Get RFQs from contractors near your yard
Lumby is a marketplace that connects contractors with local building-material suppliers. Contractors send you a request for quote (RFQ) with their material list. You price it line by line, they award it, and they pay through the platform.
How it works for your yard
- Set up your yard: business details and hours, materials catalog, delivery and payment terms, review, and payment setup with Stripe Connect. The Lumby team reviews your application.
- Set your service radius. You only receive RFQs from contractors inside your coverage area.
- Get RFQs in your Inbox with the material list, quantities and units, job site, date needed, delivery window, and any vehicle or placement the contractor asked for.
- Fill in each line and send. Lumby turns it into a branded PDF quote for the contractor.
- When a contractor awards your quote you're notified right away. They pay through Stripe, and payouts go to your connected bank account.
Plans for suppliers
Suppliers start with a 2-month free trial. Paid plans are billed monthly. Marketplace fees may apply per transaction. Request a demo or sign up as a supplier.
How would my yard receive contractor RFQs?
You set a service radius in miles during onboarding. When a contractor inside that area builds a project, your yard shows up in their supplier list, where they can search by name, category or catalog item. If they pick you, the RFQ lands in your Inbox and you get an email. You only see RFQs sent to your yard.
Can I respond with line-item pricing or my own quote PDF?
You respond with line-item pricing: open the RFQ, fill in each line and send. Lumby turns it into a branded PDF quote for the contractor automatically. Uploading your own quote PDF is not supported.
What happens after my quote wins?
You're notified right away and the order moves to your Awarded list. You manage the delivery, keep the contractor updated, and message them from the order. Lumby creates the invoice, the contractor pays through Lumby by card or bank account, now or on the terms you offer, and payouts go to your connected bank account through Stripe.
What does joining involve?
Sign up as a Supplier with your access code, then complete 5 steps: business details and hours, materials catalog, delivery and payment terms, review, and payment setup with Stripe Connect. The Lumby team reviews and approves your yard before contractors can see it.
When might I start receiving requests?
Once your yard is live, contractors in your service area can send you RFQs. How many you receive depends on contractor activity near you, so we can't promise a number.
How does Lumby fit with my current sales or ERP system?
Lumby does not connect to ERP, POS or accounting systems today. It works alongside them: RFQs, quotes, messages and payments for Lumby orders stay in Lumby, and you can export your transactions to CSV and download PDF quotes and invoices for your own records.
Do I need to be available 24/7?
No. Contractors can send RFQs at any time, but you respond on your schedule. Your business hours are displayed on your profile so contractors know when to expect responses.
